counselling/psychotherapy
Psychotherapy and Counselling in Islington, North London
I offer a confidential, non-judgmental space in which you can speak freely about whatever is troubling you. Perhaps the most important aspect of this work is the relationship between client and therapist so it is important to find someone you feel comfortable with.
There is no agreed definition of the distinction between counselling and psychotherapy. However, counselling is sometimes understood as time-limited work, focusing on a particular issue e.g problems at work.
Psychotherapy may be seen as open-ended work which goes into greater depth about a person’s life-history and relationships. In practice, there is often an overlap between the two. I am happy to work long or short-term, whatever suits your requirements.
My approach is non-directive, which means that I will rarely offer advice or tell you what to do. The idea is that we think together to find solutions that work best for you.
